What’s Love got to do with it?

Have you ever had to distance yourself from someone that you care about? Sometimes in life we are exposed to something referred to as a “toxic relationship”. A toxic relationship as defined by the term coiner , is “any relationship [between people who] don’t support each other, where there’s conflict and one seeks to undermine the other, where there’s competition, or where there’s disrespect and a lack of cohesiveness”. Toxic relationships are birthed out of a discrepancy between two or more party’s understanding of the concept of love.

Love is the same no matter how you encounter…

Part 1: Her.

It was a Friday night, and I, was, horny. I had a long week at work and my boss Jerry just finished getting on my last good nerve about a report that we both knew was perfect. I honestly think that he just wants to get in my pants, but sorry Jerry you’re not my type. I like my men big and strong — tall dark and handsome. All my girlfriends were married and quite frankly boring. Something happens to you after settling down — and I did not want that to happen to me.

I liked dressing up, looking…

My Sex Life is None of Your Business

Since the beginning of time, sex has been a domineering force in human existence. Traceable all the way back to the garden of eden, our susceptibility to sensuality has been weaponized in such a way to cause us to perpetually stumble and fall. Using the Bible as a historical precursor we can see that no good has ever come from society [other people] knowing what goes on in the privacy of our individual bed rooms. In the Bible there is a story of a woman who ‘was caught’ “in the act of committing adultery” (John 8:3). …

In an increasingly isolated world where we are constantly normalizing decreased social interaction, if you were to take a moment and consider your own social dynamics and friend groups, you would probably discover the same thing that I have: your social life has likely drastically diminished. In a post pandemic world, as people try to put the pieces of their torn apart sense of normalcy back together in a way that fits their new reality, we are discovering new depths of loneliness and isolation. Do not believe me? …

The year was 2005, it was 5pm EST and the block on Cartoon Network was about to premier. The was when all of the “cool” cartoons would come on. I’m talking , , , , , , and of course ! But among all of those epic shows, none was more epic than Akira Toriyama’s .

Dragon Ball Z is a story about a Saiyan boy from Planet Vegeta that escapes from his home in a space pod; before it [his home] is destroyed by Frieza —…

As 2021 gets underway, amid the aroma of excitement and new possibilities that a new year brings, people across the world are facing unprecedented scenarios that are only short of maddening. The start of 2021 has been all but peaceful and relaxing to say the least. I do not know about you, but Christmas through New Year’s vacation did not feel like much of a vacation. Over the last month or so now, I have had more anxiety attacks than ever before. …

It is pretty obvious at this point that this year’s United States Presidential election is one of the most consequential in our nation’s history. On one hand you have a sitting President that is completely uncouth in his holding of the office; And on the other you have a doddering old man that is “profoundly decent”.

The boat for change has sailed both literally and metaphorically. The ‘Change’ candidate of 2008 in the form of Barack Obama has come and gone having served two full presidential terms. …

I am about to give you my personal manifesto on how to live a life worth living. Self-respect is an essential if you want to be happy in your life. I find value in this topic because I believe that it is something that people do not really entertain as something worth discussing. For a multitude of reasons people will rationalize diminishing themselves for the purpose of bolstering someone else.

Unfortunately, the issue of low self-esteem is not isolated to an individual incident or a string of behaviors, self-deprecation can and does stem from an inherent human flaw. …

One of the inevitabilities of life is waiting. We all wait. Your average driver spends 20% of their time waiting at red lights. Have you ever gone to a restaurant with a line? After taking your name down at the host station the next thing you receive is a wait time, not a table. And, once you get the table you still have to wait for your food. If you have ever been to a DMV, going into that situation, you already know that 90% of your time spent there will be waiting.

Waiting has a tedious quality to it…

Why You Should Get Naked More Often

Since the beginning of time, the natural state of human beings has been one without clothes. Clothing came after human beings had the revelation of nudity:

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. …
